Q: What is ratGPU? |
A: ratGPU is a free OpenCL ray tracing renderer. Currently it works for
3dsmax 2010/2011/2012 and Maya 2012 ( Windows & Mac ).
It also includes a benchmark. |
|
|
|
Q: Which are the minimum requisites to execute it? |
A: It should work with any NVIDIA GeForce 8 (or above) or ATI Radeon
4XXX ( or above ) with
almost 512Mb of VRAM.
The operating systems supported are Windows XP/Vista/7, Ubuntu linux 11.10, Linux Mint 12, OpenSUSE 12.1,
Fedora 16 and MacOSX
10.6/7 by now. |

|
If you use ATI card you'll need the latest Catalyst 11.9 APP drivers ( the
ones including OpenCL ). Drivers prior to those ones may hang
ratGPU.
If you use an NVIDIA card you'll need the lastest Forceware 28X drivers or above ( the 19X, 25X
and 26X have several problems with ratGPU ).
Please, notice that there is currently
a limitation that forces you to use the x64 application in a 64bits OS. If you
try to run the x86 app in a 64bits OS it will fail ! |
